Design build project and historic home renovation of a 1959 “Patio-Port” tract home designed by renowned architect Ralph Haver. The existing load bearing concrete masonry unit wall running the full length of the house was to be demolished and replaced with a light gauge steel beam and two 3 inch round columns that support the existing roof joists above. In this modern house design, the existing kitchen trades places with the existing TV room and brings the kitchen close to the pool bar while simultaneously creating a large open living area with no walls, just a thin steel beam and round columns unifying each room. This architectural project is fully designed and permitted for construction.
